Feeling Slighted

 A self-aware public figure once said, "When I enter a room and people stand up for me, it hurts me. But it hurts even more when they don't stand up."
Some people might think that they are not honor-seekers because they feel embarrassed when someone tries to honor them. A more accurate criteria is how they feel when others do not show them honor and respect. A person who has overcome his demand for honor will not feel hurt when others do not honor him.
